As the creator of a Quiz, you have the option of allowing your learners to re-attempt a Quiz. You also have the ability to control how the learner views this re-attempt.

Quiz settings can be configured from within the course builder, by selecting the context menu on the Quiz you want to configure, and choosing the 'Module settings' option.

Set the number of attempts

By default, the number of re-attempts on a Quiz is set to unlimited. To change this, uncheck the unlimited checkbox and use the number stepper to choose the number of re-attempts you'd like your learner to have.

Set what to do on re-attempts

There are 2 options you can choose from for re-attempts.

  1. Show only questions marked 'incorrect' on previous attempt
Selecting this option will only show the learner those answers that they got wrong on the previous attempt. They will not see any answers that they got correct the first time.

  2. Show correct responses from previous attempt                                                         Selecting this option will not only show the learner which questions they got correct on their previous attempt, it will also preselect the correct answer during their reattempt.

Selecting an attempt for grading

The attempt scheme refers to the attempt that will be used to determine the grade of the Quiz. You have the option of either using the attempt with the Highest Grade, or the Latest Attempt. By default, the latest attempt is selected
